Message from the Executive Director

The 2026 GAPT Fall Conference & Trade Show is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to welcoming our GAPT family to the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville, October 21–22.

We have put together a strong two days of timely information, collaboration, networking, and professional development specifically geared toward Georgia’s pupil transportation administrators and leaders. We look forward to a great conference and to spending time with many of you in Cartersville.

We are also excited about the continued growth of the Southeastern Pupil Transportation Academy (SPTA). As the Academy has evolved, we have updated the SPTA identity and renumbered our course offerings. While you will see new SPTA course numbers and an updated presentation of the program, the course content remains essentially the same, and our certification requirements have not changed. This is an evolution of the Academy as we continue building a strong, structured professional development program for Georgia’s pupil transportation community.

And even as we prepare for Cartersville, 2027 is quickly coming into view. We will soon begin the planning process for another full year of GAPT programs, including our 2027 Fleet Conference & Trade Show in Cartersville, June 1–3, followed by our premier annual event, the 2027 GAPT Summer Conference & Trade Show on Jekyll Island, June 14–17.

There is a lot happening within GAPT, and I am excited about where we are headed. Thank you for your continued support, participation, and commitment to our profession. I look forward to seeing you in Cartersville and to continuing our work together to strengthen pupil transportation throughout Georgia.
